Two Michelin rated meals on my birthday

I decided to eat at two Michelin Bib Gourmand rated restaurants on my birthday, because why not?

First up, White Lily Diner for lunch. I had the Standard breakfast with two eggs sunny-side up, bacon, and what they call a “hashbrown” but what I would consider Rosti. In either case, it was great!

Their feature donuts of the day were Bourbon Peach and a Strawberry mix of some sort (forgot the specifics). Being a bourbon lover, it was an easy choice for me.

Now on to dinner at R&D. The acronym stands for Rebel and Dragon, the winner and one of the judges of season one of the reality show Masterchef.

The restaurant is known for its “Best Duck in the City”, a $120 dish that requires 24 hour notice. It’s a variation of Peking Duck, smoked and served with Bao buns.

And yes, it was amazing!!

I don’t normally eat brussel sprouts but they looked so good in Yelp reviews that I had to order them and boy was I glad that I did! They were incredible!
