So I learned my lesson last year about entering at Hall 5 when Tactical Imports is at the other end so this time I started the show at Hall 1….and went straight to the TI booth!
In terms of guns, I was most interested in seeing the BRS-99. Pretty much impossible to handle this without hearing “UZI 9 mm” in the Terminator’s voice lol (though I guess a Polish accent would be more relevant)
It comes with both restricted and non-restricted barrels
Next up, the SAP-6 spring assisted pump action mag fed shotgun
The new tactical version has a very beefy full length rail
And the MKA 1919 mag fed shotgun for comparison
Ok, ok, you are all waiting for the Type 81, finally with the finished furniture
And for a more modern look, the available accessory rail
Nice to see the Lynx again
Handguns including the Bersa Thunder 22-6
As you all know, Tactical Imports is an official dealer for Extrema Ratio…
I was most looking forward to seeing the Nightmare karambit…and it is awesome!
Note the glass breaker on the ring
Shown in both retracted and extended grips
I LOVE the feel of the HF2 folder…or should I say “fixed-folder” because it features the same pin locking system as the RAO, essentially turning it into a fixed blade
Finally got to see a Pugio..it was heavier than I expected
Meanwhile the Landing Force was superlight…as it is an EOD knife made out of titanium!!
Good in reverse and forward grips
Finally the Corvo
Blue Guns showcasing the very slick Shield optics that feature 4 reticles, including a dot surrounded by a circle made up of smaller dots
Thanks again to the TI guys for being such gracious hosts!
Next up, Leupold who I think stole the show with lots of awesome new gear introduced at the SHOT
show. First up, the LTO tracker mini thermal sight.
You can still see the impression of the rep’s hand when he removes it from the counter
And the same thing with people\s footsteps after the walk away!
Yikes my heat signature looks scary lol
The new D-EVO! This sight works like a “periscope” to look around the red dot that you would mount in front of it allowing your eye to switch instantly from 1x to 6x. Thanks so much for bringing this in to show me!
The LRO red dot..super robust and super wide window with 1 MOA dot
Thanks so so much to Tactical Imports for letting us borrow a Blue Gun to mount the optics…you guys rock!
Say your prayers Turkey!
More great optics from Leupold including this top of the line scope VX-6HD
The turret has two full revolutions and the lock button moves after the first rotation so you can tell
where you are by feel
The illuminated crosshair flashes when your scope is off canter working like an electronic bubble level
Another great hunting scope, the VX-3i LRP
Next to Leupold was the Hornady booth
Showcasing their new RFID handgun safe…you press the big square button top, it lights up and then you simply tap it with your RFID to open the safe
Great group of guys at Leupold and Hornady, happy to learn you are avid CGNers!
On to Stoeger and another great surprise of the show…the new Tikka T3X Arctic, the civilian version of the C-19 Canadian Ranger rifle…what a beauty! My favourite gun of the show
More from the Stoeger family
Including my favourite brand of optics, Steiner
Radio World has GREAT deals on Steiner
Again for those who don’t think this show is “tactical” some great gear from Sport Ear..love the Ghost
Stryke
Reed safes are true works of art…imported from the US, they feature the smallest frame to door gap as they custom fit the safe frame to the door! As such, a door from a different safe of the same size would not fit your particular safe. The sliding gun racks are a great way to keep your guns organized.
This “small” safe weighs over 1000 pounds…and costs over $4000!!
Fundy Tactical for your all your 5.11 needs
Distributor MD Charlton
Custom knives from Ron Post
Tactical lights from Fenix
And Armytek…many of which were 2000+ lumens!
This one was adopted by the York Regional Police
GPS from Garmin
Optics from Nikon, including their new image stabilized range finder
Nice to see gun organizations promoting our sport…CCFR focuses on educating the public and they had a few guns on hand to show the differences between restricted and non-restricted
The CSSA booth with a shooting simulator…no Stormbringer but I did find a Jarlath lol
Other booths had simulators as well
Apart from guns, they had lots of archery and fishing gear
So all in all a better show than last year..some real standouts like the Extrema Ratio knives, Leupold optics, and Tikka T3X arctic.
Ok, now for some wings at Anchor Bar
