I discovered the TR-1 through the latest High Capacity magazine (which also features my review of SHOT Show )….the company behind it, O2 Canada has been making a civilian variant called “the Curve” for years before introducing the tactical respirator. They also have an updated version, called the TR-2 in the works but those won’t ship before June/July (at least). The TR-2 uses cartridge type filters and as such is a much beefier design….definitely cool but i didn’t want to wait.
My TR-1 arrived in about 3-4 weeks from the time i placed the order…of course part of that delay came from Canada Post. It came with a nice carrying pouch and 3 filters. I ordered a pack of 10 extra filters as well.
It took me a bit longer than expected to adjust the straps but once dialed in, it fit flush with no air gaps around the edges.
And yes, easy to get a cheek weld (the pic is bit blurry as it was taken off a tripod with a timer)
Btw, some online comments have suggested it looks like a jock on your face….here it is next to a Lo-Bloo Thai Cup (an AWESOME piece of kit)…not even close…and no, I am not demo-ing that one.
i will definitely wear it next time i leave the house and loop back with some comments.
